Biography

Dr. Ashraf Y. A. Maghari, obtained his BSc. from Faculty of Science, Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine, in 1998, and his Master degree in informatics from Technical University of Clausthal, Germany, 2003. In 2011 he was awarded the Malaysian International Scholarship (MIS) to complete his study in School of Computer sciences, Universit Sains Malaysia, where he obtained PhD in Computer Vision and Image Processing, 2014. He is now an Assistant Professor and the Head of Multimedia Technology and Web Development department in Faculty of Information Technology, Islamic University of Gaza.

Dr. Ashraf is mainly working in the area of Computer Vision and Image Processing, especially in 3D Face reconstruction from single 2D images and Recognizing of occluded faces. Theoretical tools he has investigated include Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Independant Component Analysis  (ICA), regularization methods, B-Splines, and some typical Machine Learning and Data Mining techniques.
