The Course Description



The course commences with a basic introduction to microbial structure, function, growth, diversity and activity in their natural habitats, and explores the role of microorganisms in shaping the geochemistry of the earth. A survey of modern microorganisms and their activities of medical and environmental importance is an important foundation for the course. The course also discusses the microbial involvement in water and wastewater treatment and disinfection.
