Born on 14 March 1956 in Gaza, Palestine
Adnan is a Distinguished Professor of Construction Engineering and Management in the Civil Engineering Department at IUG. He was Chair of Civil Engineering Department and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. He received the Scientific Research Award for Science and Engineering in 2011 and 2005 from IUG in recognition of extraordinary accomplishment in research and scholarship. He has authored over 200 research papers published in both International Refereed Journals as well as International Conferences. He was elected a Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and a fellow of the Palestinian Academy for Science and Technology. He is also a fellow of a number of international professional institutions in USA and UK. He serves on Editorial Boards of several leading international journals and as a member of the panel of reviewers for several journals. He was a visiting Professor at Clemson University (USA), Bremen University, Stuttgart Technical University, Berlin Technical University, and Munich Technical University (Germany), Graz University (Austria) and Liverpool University (UK). He has developed and conducted many training programs in Construction Project Management disciplines with the WORLD BANK, UNDP, UNRWA, WHO, USAID, UNESCO and ILO. He was awarded a number of research fellowships including prestigious Fulbright (USA), Alexander von Humboldt (Germany), DFG (Germany), Distinguished Scholar Award (The Arab Fund Fellowship Program), DAAD (Germany), OAED (Austria), and British Council (UK). He Speaks Arabic, English and German.
