GRANTS AND FUNDED PROJECTS

  • Joint MSc in Software Engineering (JMSE), The project is part of TEMPUS IV – 5th Call for proposals. The duration of the project is from 15/10/2012 to 14/10/2015. This project has been funded with support from the European Commission with a total budget of  1.427 Million Euros. The project Contract Number is 530637-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-PS-TEMPUS-JPCR.
  •  P.E.A.C.E. (Program for Excellence Academy Cooperation Exchange. The project is part of  Erasmus Mundus Action 2. Coordinating Institution is University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). This project has been funded with support from the European Commission with a total budget of  4.428 million Euros. Total number of partners is 20, 10 European and 10 Arab (Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan). The duration of the project is from 15th of July 2012 to 14th of July 2016.
  • Mediterranean Virtual University (MVU) project from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Mikki  was the technical manager of the IUG partner of the Mediterranean Virtual University (MVU) project contract of a total budget of four Million Euros from the EU to conduct a project in the field of Web-Based Learning. Dr. Mikki’s responsibilities in this project were being the technical manager and content development manager person for the IUG partner. The project included 11 partners from renowned universities in Europe and the Mediterranean region. Project Website: www.med-vu.org
  • ODISEAME project form 2002 to 2005, Dr. Mikki was the technical manager of the IUG partner of the ODISEAME project contract of a budget of 1000,000 Euro allocated to the IUG partner. The project was funded by the EU to conduct a project in the field of Web-Based Learning. Dr. Mikki’s responsibilities in the project were being the technical manager and the second key person of the IUG partner team. ODISEAME is a Mediterranean project funded by the EU to design a Mediterranean virtual university.

  • Received a Deanery of Scientific Research grant of $800 for a project titled “A Hybrid Localization Protocol for Mobile Sensor Networks” for the full academic year of 07/08.
  • Received a Deanery of Scientific Research grant of $1000 for a project  titled “Design of Java tools for measuring the Internet performance” for the full academic year of 03/04.
  • Received a Deanery of Scientific Research grant of $2000 for a project  titled “System intelligent pro active network management” for the full academic year of 01/02.
