 Course Description:

Applied linear regression presents the fundamental concepts of regression through examples and with an emphasis on applications, real data, and the use of S-PLUS. This course takes great care to explain the proper application of the methods and the importance of correctly interpreting computer output. Emphasized are understanding the assumptions of the regression model, knowing how to validate these assumptions for a selected model, knowing when and how regression might be useful, and understanding and interpreting output from S-PLUS.

The prerequisites are Computer and Data Analysis, ECON 2346 and Statistical Analysis, ECON 3341.

Statistical Software Packages: SPSS, S-PLUS and R
